During his three and a half seasons with the Giants, Daboll compiled a 20-40-1 record Giants. Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has been appointed interim head coach to succeed Daboll.

The Giants lost a double-digit lead in the closing minutes for the second time this season on Sunday in a defeat at Chicago, marking their fourth straight loss.

Daboll was also recently penalized $100,000 for breaching the NFL's concussion protocol after he entered the medical tent yelling at trainers to put quarterback Jaxson Dart back on the field during a concussion evaluation.

The Giants announced that general manager Joe Schoen will remain in his role and oversee the search for a new head coach.

In Daboll's first season, New York finished 9-7-1 and made the NFL playoffs, falling to Philadelphia in the second round.

The Giants parted ways with running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Daniel Jones only to watch Barkley help Philadelphia secure last season's Super Bowl title and Jones lead the NFL in passing yards this year for Indianapolis, the league's top-scoring team.
