Vietnam’s leading female shuttler will make a comeback on the international stage following her recovery from injury.
Vietnam’s number one player Nguyễn Thùy Linh is set to rejoin the international circuit after her injury recovery, starting with a tournament in South Korea in early November. This event is considered an important preparation step for her goal of competing at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
According to the coaching staff of the Vietnamese badminton team, Thùy Linh is currently undergoing intensive physical training and is ready to compete. The 1997-born player suffered an injury at the 2025 Masters in China in early September but returned to play at the BXL Badminton Tournament 2025 team event in Indonesia, showing consistent performance.
On November 4th, Nguyễn Thùy Linh will participate in the 2025 International Masters badminton tournament in South Korea, part of the BWF World Tour Super 300 series. The Vietnamese player has been granted direct entry into the main draw of the women’s singles event. This is a vital opportunity for her to earn ranking points and maintain competitive form against Asia’s top opponents.
Following the tournament in South Korea, Thùy Linh will continue to compete at the 2025 Japan Masters International Badminton Championships in Japan from November 11 to 16. This busy schedule aims to help Vietnam’s top player improve her form and test her fitness before bigger competitions.
Additionally, she may participate in another international tournament in India before joining the Vietnamese badminton team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the latest world rankings released by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on October 7, Nguyễn Thùy Linh remains ranked 18th in women’s singles globally. Due to limited tournament participation recently, she has not yet improved her ranking.
