Nguyễn Thùy Linh is demonstrating excellent performance at the Korea Masters 2025, part of the BWF World Tour's Super 300 tier.
Vietnam’s top badminton player - Nguyễn Thùy Linh has impressively reached the final of the Super 300 Korea Masters 2025 after a convincing 2-0 victory over the young Japanese talent Hina Akechi this afternoon on November 8th, Hanoi time.
This win serves as a strong confirmation of Thùy Linh’s remarkable progress in 2025 – at a time when the athlete from Phú Thọ is at the peak of her career. This is her fourth final appearance this season (counting only international tournaments) – following the German Open, Canada Open, and Vietnam Open. The player representing Đồng Nai has also consistently climbed the world rankings, reaching her career-highest position at 17.
If she defeats Chiu Pin-chian in tomorrow’s final on November 9th, Nguyễn Thùy Linh will become the first Vietnamese female player to win a Super 300 level tournament, and only the second badminton player from Vietnam overall to achieve this after the legend Nguyễn Tiến Minh. The title in Korea would be a sweet reward for Thùy Linh’s tireless efforts despite the challenges she has faced over the years.
This will also be a test of Thùy Linh’s composure and determination at a critical moment. In her previous three Super 300 finals – two consecutive German Opens and one Canada Open – the 1997-born player was mostly defeated rather quickly, unable to deliver her best badminton.
Skill is crucial, but without a strong mindset and a bit of risk-taking at key moments, it is very difficult for any athlete to succeed. Hopefully, Thùy Linh will maintain the high-level play she showed in the semifinal against Akechi today to make history. Her opponent, Chiu Pin-chian, is excellent and the tournament’s top seed, but everything remains well within reach for Vietnam’s golden badminton girl.
The Super 300 Korea Masters 2025 final between Nguyễn Thùy Linh and Chiu Pin-chian will take place at 9:00 AM on November 9th, Vietnam time – perfectly convenient for fans to follow and support.
