Nguyễn Thùy Linh opens her campaign, creating a memorable milestone at the All England Open 2026

The All England Open 2026 will be Thùy Linh's first BWF World Tour tournament after the Lunar New Year.

Vietnam's top player - Nguyễn Thùy Linh is highly likely to compete in the Super 1000 event All England Open 2026 , the prestigious tournament held from March 3rd to 8th in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Previously, there were concerns that Thùy Linh might not reach Birmingham due to unpredictable developments in the Middle East affecting global flights. However, according to the latest update, the "Beauty of Vietnamese Badminton" has arrived in the host country.

Based on the draw updated by the organizers on the BWF (Badminton World Federation) official website, Nguyễn Thùy Linh will face Line Christophersen (Denmark, world No. 24) in her opening match.

This can be considered the "lightest" opponent Thùy Linh could have faced at the All England Open - a tournament gathering the world's badminton elite. The two have met twice before at the Italian International 2017 and the Malaysia Masters 2025, where the Vietnamese representative emerged victorious on both occasions after three games.

If she overcomes Christophersen, Thùy Linh will achieve her first-ever advancement past the first round of the world's oldest badminton tournament. Previously, in her two participations in 2024 and 2025, the player born in 1997 was eliminated in the opening round by formidable opponents: Chen Yufei and Akane Yamaguchi, respectively.

Thùy Linh's or Christophersen's opponent in the second round will be either Yeo Jia Min or Ratchanok Intanon - a former world No. 1. Should she succeed in this hurdle, the Vietnamese representative is likely to have a rematch with Yamaguchi in the quarterfinals.
