Ahead of the second World Series game, the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers revealed their starters for games three and four. The Blue Jays will start Cy Young winners Max Scherzer and Shane Bieber in these two away games, while the Dodgers have named Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani as their starters, consistent with their National League Championship Series rotation.
The upcoming third and fourth games of the World Series are scheduled to take place at the Dodgers’ home stadium on October 28 and 29 Beijing time. In the American League Championship Series, the Blue Jays originally planned to start Bieber in game three and Scherzer in game four. Blue Jays manager John Schneider explained that this rotation adjustment ensures Scherzer gets adequate rest without overextending, allowing him to pitch in a potential game seven. Additionally, Bieber, who recently returned from elbow ligament surgery, benefits from an extra day of rest.
The Dodgers’ starting pitcher lineup remains identical to that of the National League Championship Series. Although manager Dave Roberts did not mention the possibility of Ohtani pitching in relief before today’s second game, during the NLCS Roberts indicated that after starting game four, Ohtani could be available out of the bullpen in a potential game seven. This suggests the Dodgers may follow a similar strategy in the World Series.
