Los Angeles Dodgers' Korean utility player Tommy Edman faced persistent right ankle issues this season, resulting in two stints on the injured list. Following offseason surgery, his rehabilitation is going smoothly. Edman admitted that this was an essential part of his treatment and hopes to return fully healthy next season.
Throughout this season, Edman was consistently hampered by his right ankle injury. To fully address the problem, he underwent surgery during the offseason and is now recovering well. Due to recurring issues, Edman was placed on the injured list twice this year, and even when back on the field, he struggled to regain his form. In August, he expressed frustration, saying, "I don’t know what else I can do."
After the surgery, Edman revealed on a local radio show that the procedure was very successful. "The doctor told me everything went well, and I hope to make a full recovery. This pain has troubled me for two years, so surgery was a necessary step," he said.
Due to his injury, Edman appeared in only 97 games this season, posting a .225 batting average with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs. As his post-surgery recovery continues, fans and analysts alike hope he can overcome his injury troubles and return to the field fully healthy next year.
