The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a trade with the Baltimore Orioles today, sending right-handed pitcher Axel Perez to acquire right-handed pitcher Chayce McDermott.

The 27-year-old McDermott appeared in 5 games for Norfolk (Triple-A affiliate of the Orioles) this season, posting a record of 1 win and 0 losses with an ERA of 6.75. He made his MLB debut in 2024, starting one game and allowing three runs over four innings.

Across 113 minor league appearances, he accumulated 22 wins and 24 losses with an ERA of 4.38, striking out 568 batters over 409 innings. He was selected by the Houston Astros from Ball State University with the 132nd pick in the 2021 draft.
