After nearly a year hiatus, former world champion Loh Kean Yew finally reached the final of the World Tour again. On the 1st local time, Singapore's former world champion Loh Kean Yew, ranked 15th in the world, defeated Japan's world No. 44 Takahashi Takahashi 21-13, 21-14 in a men's singles semifinal of the 2025 German Badminton Super 300 Tournament, and won all two meetings between the two sides.
Luo Jianyou reached the final again after nearly one year
This is also Luo Jianyou's second time in one year after winning the Spanish Super 300 championship in March last year. Loh's record has plummeted since last year and this year, with as many as 12 first-round exits, two of which came in January at the Malaysian Super 1000 and Indonesia Super 500. Loh had previously played in the German Open in 2019 (Selection), 2022 (First Round) and 2023 (Second Round), all of which were early exits, and now he has finally reached the final for the first time at this tournament.
Loh will face Denmark's two-time Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen in the final on the 2nd, and if Loh succeeds, he will become the first Singaporean men's singles player in history to win the German Open.
