The 2025 Badminton World Championships will be held in Paris from 25 to 31 August. The BWF announced on Thursday the list of candidates for the first phase based on the world rankings on April 29. World No. 10 Li Zijia is recovering from an ankle injury and will join world No. 26 Liang Junhao in the men's singles. In the Women's Singles, Malaysian liberos Goh Jin Wei (world No. 43) and Le Shana (world No. 52) also made the list.
Malaysia will also feature three Men's Doubles pairs, including world No. 2 "Fei Ting" Goh Shi Fei and Noi Zu Ting, world No. 5 former world champions Chia Ting Feng and So Wei Yi, and world No. 7 Wan Wei Cong and Cheng Kai Wen. In the Mixed Doubles, Malaysia are led by world No. 3 Goh Xun and Lai Jie Min, followed by world No. 4 Tan Tong Kit and Du Yi Wei and world No. 14 Koh Pang Rong and Chung Shu Yun.
Lettie led the Malaysian women's doubles with two pairs. World No. 5 Tan Kang Lok and Tina and world No. 25 Goh Peggy and Teo Mae Xin will carry Malaysia's hopes of achieving success in Women's Doubles. A country or region can have a maximum of four entries in each event, and each member and regional badminton federation must confirm its final entry list by August 12, with the world ranking on July 29 as the seeding and the draw taking place on August 12.
