On August 27th Beijing time, Nets reporter Brian Lewis mentioned Chinese player Cui Yongxi.
Lewis posted a training video of Cui Yongxi, writing: “Cui Yongxi is working hard to return to the NBA. Last December, during his time with the Long Island Nets (the Brooklyn Nets’ G League team), he tore his anterior cruciate ligament.”
“Before this, Cui Yongxi was doing rehab training in Brooklyn. Now he has left the HSS training center and is preparing to join 5v5 training in Los Angeles, where he might become an option for some teams.”
Recently, Chinese basketball media personality Zhao Tan Zhang stated in a livestream that Cui Yongxi’s American agent team has been actively seeking opportunities for him, trying to secure an Exhibit 10 contract. “He still hasn’t finalized anything. The American side has been working hard to find NBA chances for him and see if an E10 contract can be signed, but the registration deadline is approaching, so he needs to make a decision soon.”
Last year, Cui Yongxi signed a two-year two-way contract with the Nets, but in December he tore the ACL in his left knee, ending his season, and was later waived by the Nets. Recently, the Nets signed Zeng Fanbo.
Over the past three seasons, Zeng Fanbo has played for Beijing Ducks. Last season, he appeared in 37 regular season games, averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game; in the playoffs, he played 5 games, averaging 15 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1.6 blocks. The Nets and Suns will play two preseason games in Macau, China, this October, and it’s expected that Zeng Fanbo will represent the Nets.
