Explosive news! Predicting the 12th pick in the NBA first round! China’s future top defensive anchor in men's basketball

The American media NBA Draft Room has published the newest 2028 NBA draft forecast list, indicating that Xun Sinan will be picked 12th in the first roundwhich is an improvement of two positions compared to the earlier prediction of 14th.

This media outlet is not some obscure source; before this year’s draft, they predicted Yang Hansen would be chosen 22nd in the first round, and he ultimately went 16th to the Trail Blazers, making them the most accurate among all American draft media.

Domestic media insiders revealed,Xun Sinan will decide on his college by the end of this year and is expected to become the first Chinese basketball player to join an NCAA high major program in history.

The so-called NCAA high major usually refers to the most competitive and financially strong conferences, including the Big Ten, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big 12, Southeastern Conference (SEC), and the former Big East.

Born on May 8, 2007, just recently turned 18, Xun Sinan stands about 2.16 meters tall with a wingspan reportedly reaching 2.3 meters. He moves quickly, covers a wide defensive area, is unafraid to switch onto smaller guards, and has a keen shot-blocking instinct, averaging 5 blocks per game at this year’s U19 World Cup, able to single-handedly anchor the entire defense.

Of course, Xun Sinan currently has weaknesses, such as insufficient physical strength and limited offensive skills, especially lacking the ability to lead teammates. His scoring mostly comes from close-range shots under the basket. This explains why at the U19 World Cup, he averaged only 4.6 rebounds along with 11.3 points per game, with his rebound count surprisingly less than his blocks — a rare phenomenon.

No matter what, NBA teams today find it hard to resist a high-potential, athletic interior player like Xun Sinan, so it’s not surprising that his draft stock is high. However, for Chinese men’s basketball, a more well-rounded playing style from Xun Sinan is needed for him to truly be regarded as the future inside core.

If Xun Sinan can fully realize his talent in the future, combined with Yang Hansen, Chinese men’s basketball will have an extremely competitive inside presence for at least the next decade, both in Asia and on the global basketball stage.
