The American media NBA Draft Room has published the newest forecast for the 2028 NBA Draft, indicating Xun Sinan will be picked 12th in the first roundwhich is an improvement of two positions compared to the earlier prediction of 14th overall.
This media outlet is not just any minor source; before this year’s draft, they predicted Yang Hansen would be selected 22nd in the first round, and he ultimately went 16th to the Trail Blazers, making them the closest among all American media to the actual results.
Xun Sinan was born on May 8, 2007, just recently turned 18, stands about 2.16 meters tall, reportedly with a wingspan of 2.30 meters, moves quickly covering a wide defensive area, isn’t afraid to switch onto smaller guards, and has a keen shot-blocking instinct, averaging 5 blocks per game at this year’s U19 World Cup, capable of anchoring the entire defense on his own.
Of course, Xun Sinan currently has weaknesses, such as insufficient physical strength for contact and limited offensive skills, especially lacking the ability to involve teammates; his scoring mainly comes from close-range putbacks. This explains why at the U19 World Cup he averaged only 4.6 rebounds and 11.3 points per game, with rebounds even fewer than blocks, which is quite a rarity.
No matter what, NBA teams today truly cannot resist a high-potential, athletic interior player like Xun Sinan, so it’s no surprise his draft stock is strong. However, for China’s men’s basketball team, they need a more well-rounded Xun Sinan to genuinely be regarded as the future core inside player.
If Xun Sinan fully fulfills his potential in the future, combined with Yang Hansen, China’s men’s basketball will have an extremely competitive interior presence for at least the next decade, both in Asia and on the global basketball stage.
