The Luohu District Amateur Basketball Open concluded successfully, igniting a grassroots basketball festival that fueled the passion for nationwide fitness!

Recently, the Luohu District Amateur Basketball Open concluded grandly at Shenzhen Donghu Middle School's indoor basketball court. The event was hosted by Shenzhen Luohu District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports, organized by the Luohu District Basketball Association, co-organized by Shenzhen Lansu Sports Development Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Yeball Emperor Sports Culture Co., Ltd., and received strong support from the Xiangxi Community Foundation of Luohu District and Donghu Middle School. Strategic partners Zhizhe and Goodfellow Fitness provided prizes for the winners.

This competition featured two categories: the Open Group and the Government Group, attracting 18 teams and nearly 240 basketball enthusiasts. In the Open Group, Liluzhu Jewelry, Guoli, and Tianbei claimed first, second, and third places respectively, with Zeng Zhiying awarded FMVP; in the Government Group, Luohu Emergency successfully defended their title, Sunshen United took second place, and Nanhu Street and the Propaganda, Culture and Sports United Team placed third and fourth respectively, with He Jinyuan honored as FMVP; the three-point contest champion was Li Zhi from Luohu Emergency. At the closing ceremony, Zeng Lixin, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Luohu District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports, attended and presented awards to the winners.

The event lasted two weeks over eight competition days, with a total of 40 matches played. The entire tournament was live-streamed on the Sports Tree Root platform with precise statistics recorded for each player’s on-court performance. The overall stats included 2,476 total points, 376 assists, 275 steals, 66 blocks, and 1,279 rebounds. The matches were thrilling and intense, drawing huge enthusiasm both on-site and online.

Coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and the upcoming 15th Games, this basketball event involving amateur players attracted thousands of citizens' attention, showcasing the vibrant vitality of grassroots basketball.

Looking ahead, there is hope that Luohu District will continue to promote such amateur sports events, allowing more residents to experience the charm of sports.

(Note: This competition is one of the year-crossing continuation events of the “2024 Luohu District Amateur Basketball Open and Street 3-on-3 Basketball Series,” which previously completed three stops at Reservoir New Village, Yijing Garden, and Dongmen Big Clock Square for the street 3-on-3 basketball matches, thus concluding all events in the series successfully.)
