LeBron James' new commercial is trending! Wearing a crown, he claims to have defeated all rivals; commentators mock it while fans debate heatedly.

On September 2nd Beijing time, LeBron James' newest ad dropped and rapidly gained massive attention, causing quite a stir. Analysts criticized it as cringeworthy, while numerous fans debated the Lakers icon in the comments.

In this video, LeBron dons a golden crown, with the voiceover stating: "He was known as the 'Chosen One,' bearing the heavy burden of expectations but never defeated. We are witnesses. Every opponent has been conquered by him, every idol surpassed. He claimed the crown and guards it fiercely — witness this greatness; he is the eternal king."

Commentator Bill Simmons mocked the ad as painfully awkward: "This is a real 'ouch' moment!" LeBron faced much criticism, with many fans sharing Simmons’ view —

“My goodness, the tone of this ad is as uncomfortable as the 2010 'Decision' (referring to LeBron’s televised announcement joining the Heat, which caused huge controversy).”

“The Warriors and Spurs both built dynasties; how can he claim to have beaten every rival?”

“I like LeBron, but this commercial goes too far for me.”

Of course, some fans defended LeBron’s ad —

“Haters will always hate, but the fact is LeBron has long surpassed everyone’s expectations.”

“This is my king; he deserves all the admiration.”

“No one has ever entered the league carrying such immense pressure like LeBron did.”

LeBron is undeniably one of the greatest players in NBA history. Since joining the league in 2003, his career achievements rank among the top in NBA history. His accolades include: 4 NBA championships, 4 Finals MVP awards, 4 regular-season MVPs, 21 All-Star selections, and 21 All-NBA team nods, with a long list of honors beyond these.

However, his NBA Finals record and winning percentage have often been points of criticism. LeBron first reached the Finals in 2011, and throughout his career, he has appeared in 10 Finals series, winning 4 titles.

During his career, LeBron has faced “idol-level” opponents who were tough to beat in crucial matchups, including Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, and at certain times, Stephen Curry.

LeBron’s most recent Finals appearance was his first (and so far only) with the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2020, the Lakers defeated the Heat 4-2 to claim the championship. Now, as his career approaches its twilight, LeBron continues with the Lakers, aiming for his 11th trip to the Finals.
