Confirmed! Officially leaving the NBA! Farewell to the 19th overall pick center from the first round.

It's confirmed, it's confirmed.

The Istanbul Anadolu Efes team from the Turkish League officially announced that Kay Jones has joined their squad.

Jones, born on January 19, 2001, is just 24 years old, standing 2.11 meters tall, a jumping interior player, the 19th pick in the 2021 first round. Throughout his NBA career, he has averaged 10.1 minutes per game, scoring 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds, with a field goal percentage of 67.1%.

Last season, while playing for the Dallas Mavericks, which might have been Jones’s final stop in the NBA, he appeared in 12 regular season games, starting 6 times, averaging 21.7 minutes, contributing 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, with an impressive shooting accuracy of 83.6%. It’s worth mentioning,Jones is the first player in NBA history to take at least 30 shots in his first four games with a team and maintain a shooting percentage of 90% or higher.

Goat!!!!

Unfortunately, despite Jones’s outstanding performance with the Mavericks, no NBA team was willing to offer him a contract during this summer’s offseason, forcing him to continue his professional career overseas.

It’s understandable from the NBA teams’ perspective since Jones is like a ticking time bomb who can explode spectacularly, but his talent isn’t yet indispensable. He still often calls himself the Goat, which goes beyond just low emotional intelligence; frankly, it suggests some serious issues with his mindset...

However, it must be admitted that when it comes to aesthetics, Jones might not be the Goat, but he is at least MVP-level.

Jones’s girlfriend is named Freya Lodge, a 1.73-meter tall, fair-skinned, beautiful blonde with long legs, who reportedly used to be a soccer player.

Guys, I really like this; even if he plays the villain, so be it.

Back to the main point, although Jones has signed with an overseas league, it doesn’t necessarily mean his NBA career is completely over. It’s reported that his contract with Istanbul Anadolu Efes includes an opt-out clause in January next year. However, typically once a player opts out, it’s very difficult to return, especially for players like him who were let go not because of ability.

What else can be said? Good luck to him. Maybe playing elsewhere will help him find his way back.
