Russell Westbrook reportedly received a massive contract offer from a Chinese team! The offer is four times that of the Kings, with three main reasons why he won't return to the Rockets.

As of October 10th Beijing time, Westbrook is still without an NBA contract. Because he is less attractive in the NBA market, he may have an opportunity to play abroad. Kings reporter Carmichael Dave revealed that Westbrook has gotten a major proposal from a Chinese club.

Dave reported on a radio show: "I heard from a reliable source who doesn't speak without foundation that Westbrook might have received a half-season contract from China—offering nearly four times the salary the Kings can provide him."

The 36-year-old Westbrook played for the Nuggets last season, averaging 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game. If he stays in the NBA, the upcoming season will be his 18th. Over his career, he has averaged 21.2 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists per game, including four seasons with a triple-double average. Additionally, Westbrook is a 9-time NBA All-Star, 9-time All-NBA team member, 2017 regular season MVP, 2-time All-Star Game MVP, and one of the NBA’s top 75 players of all time.

Recently, Westbrook's name has also been linked to the Rockets. Kevin Durant admitted on a podcast that he has heard rumors but said, "Discussions about signing Westbrook have never reached me."

"Usually, if something like this were true, it would make a big splash. But aside from fans talking online, I haven't heard any concrete news," Durant said. "Westbrook is a legend, and I think he deserves to stay in the NBA and leave the league on his own terms. But that’s not my decision to make."

The well-known American media outlet The Athletic stated that Westbrook joining the Rockets is highly unlikely and listed three main reasons—

1. The team prioritizes developing young point guards and is unwilling to limit their growth space.

2. Salary cap restrictions severely limit the possibility of signing him.

3. Tactical incompatibility could worsen spacing issues on the court.

Which team will Westbrook ultimately join? Let’s wait and see.
