The Brooklyn Nets have officially waived Zeng Fanbo! He played a total of 10 minutes in two China games and will continue his recovery back in the United States.

On October 15th Beijing time, the Brooklyn Nets officially announced the release of forward Zeng Fanbo. It was a privilege to be with Fanbo as he returned to the court after his injury, and we wish him a smooth recovery ahead.

In the two NBA China games this year, Zeng Fanbo appeared for just 10 minutes in total, without taking any shots or scoring any points.

To all friends concerned about Xiao Zeng, thank you for your care and encouragement during the China games!

Being able to step onto the NBA preseason court and wear an NBA jersey is already an incredibly valuable experience for Xiao Zeng, and we are proud of him!

About five and a half months ago, on April 29th, Xiao Zeng suffered a serious back injury during a game. His offseason plans were greatly affected, sadly missing personal training and several NBA team tryouts. During this period, he underwent bed rest, recuperation, and rehabilitation, only returning to court training in early August, nearly three months later. That precious summer slipped away. To seize this opportunity and the valuable chance to push toward the NBA, after only 20 days of ball training and recovery competition, he rushed to Brooklyn to join the team. Having played last season with a persistent knee injury, the knee pain continued to affect him. Xiao Zeng has given his all for his dream; standing on the court again is itself an act of courage. We hope everyone will continue to support and encourage him.
