On October 27th Beijing time, according to US media CPG, James made a surprising decision to tear down a mansion bought in 2020 for $37 million, aiming to start a more ambitious project: constructing two upscale residences on the same land.

At first, the public generally assumed James planned to build only one large standalone mansion. However, documents obtained by Realtor reveal that the soon-to-be 41-year-old NBA star has received approval to divide the original 2.72-acre (about 11,000 square meters) parcel into two separate lots. Each lot will have its own exclusive mansion, enhancing the project's value and scale.
This decision reflects James’s strategic insight into the high-end real estate market, especially in one of Los Angeles’s most prestigious areas. Since Beverly Hills symbolizes prestige and privacy, this project has sparked great interest among fans and industry experts alike.

To realize the plan, James assembled a renowned professional team. An urban planning consultancy is handling the administrative procedures and legal feasibility of the lot division. The well-known design firm Walker Workshop, famous for creating top-tier California mansions, is responsible for the new buildings’ design. This combination of industry-leading experts highlights the project’s uniqueness—promising an integration of innovation, comfort, and high-level aesthetic design.

It is reported that the first mansion will serve as the main residence for James, his wife Savannah, and their children, while the purpose of the second home has sparked much speculation. Many believe James intends to reserve this new property for his eldest son Bronny—who also plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Given Bronny’s stable relationship with his girlfriend, the second mansion could potentially be used as Bronny’s wedding home.

Thus, what initially seemed like a simple personal investment now appears to be evolving into a family legacy asset within Beverly Hills.
