On November 18th Beijing time, reporter Shams revealed that Paul George will make his official comeback in today’s game versus the Clippers, completing his personal season debut.

George played five seasons for the Clippers, and debuting this season against his former team holds particular meaning. In the summer of 2024, George signed a four-year contract with the 76ers. Last season, he appeared in only 41 games and underwent knee surgery in July. Before missing the final six weeks due to injury, he averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

As a nine-time All-Star, George’s current 76ers squad holds a 7-5 record in the Eastern Conference, led by Maxey and third overall pick Eichenberg. Former MVP Embiid’s playing time and condition are being closely monitored by the team. Embiid has played just six games this season, averaging 23.3 minutes per game, and George’s minutes may also be managed in some capacity.
Previously, George fully participated in the 76ers’ practice on Monday, with Embiid also attending the entire session.

This marks George’s 16th NBA season, and he is striving to rebound from last season—his first with the 76ers and his worst personal performance since the 2011-12 season.
Although Embiid has appeared in only six games, the 76ers have maintained a 7-5 record during George’s absence. Watford is one of the players filling George’s role; he participated in today’s practice in a limited capacity and started the last four games. In the nine games he has played this season, Watford averages 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
