Trail Blazers officially announce recalling Yang Hansen: expected to play against the Suns tomorrow, averaging 14.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the G League

On November 18th Beijing time, the Trail Blazers officially announced recalling Yang Hansen from their G League affiliate, the Mixers. Back with the Trail Blazers, Hansen is expected to play in the upcoming game against the Suns tomorrow (Wednesday Beijing time). During his stint with the Mixers, he appeared in two games, recording 8 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block in one, and 21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks in the other, averaging 14.5 points, 11 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks per game.

Reviewing his two G League performances, Yang Hansen’s second game was clearly more impressive. In that match, Hansen started the first quarter shooting 0 for 3, but warmed up in the second quarter by hitting three shots. In the second half, he completed two dunks in the third quarter, marking his first double-digit scoring game in the G League. In the final quarter, he nailed two three-pointers in the closing moments to keep the Mixers alive, finishing with over 20 points.

After the game, Yang Hansen said, “We are players, and what we need to do is execute all the tactics the coach sets. That’s our principle and what we should do.” When asked about his back-to-back three-pointers in the final moments and what was going through his mind, Hansen replied, “I just felt like we caught up, and then there was a chance to win.”

Regarding the recent negative comments from outside, Yang Hansen expressed, “People’s evaluations of me are also a form of care. Often, they think I’m lacking in some ways, but many times I just understand things more clearly. Maybe Chris (the translator) feels a bit sad inside, so it’s tough for those around me. I’m very grateful for their company and support.”

The Mixers’ head coach also gave high praise to Hansen. After the second game, he said, “Through continuous refinement in the G League, Hansen has demonstrated his versatility and potential on both offense and defense. In today’s game, he performed exceptionally well. As a head coach, I feel very proud and honored. Although we narrowly lost, I am still very satisfied with the team’s outstanding performance. I believe that with his ongoing efforts to improve his skills, conditioning, and both ends of the court (especially defense), once he perfects these details, he will have the opportunity to return to the NBA regular season and unleash greater potential and energy.”

Yang Hansen has rejoined the Trail Blazers roster and will continue competing in the regular season with the team. Whether he will see playing time in tomorrow’s game against the Suns depends on coach Stotts’ decision. At least, he has already shown progress in his two G League games, so let’s give Hansen some more time.
