Finally back! Leonard is expected to return tomorrow to face the Cavaliers after missing 10 consecutive games due to injury.

According to Chris Haynes on November 23rd Beijing time, Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard is expected to return in Monday’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Leonard has been out since November 3rd due to a right ankle and foot sprain, missing 10 games in total. Haynes reports that barring any unforeseen issues, the 34-year-old star will play in the Clippers’ second game of a back-to-back weekend. In today’s first game against the Hornets, Harden exploded for 55 points with 10 three-pointers, leading the team to a 131-116 victory and ending a three-game losing streak.

Leonard started this season strong, averaging 24.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals over his first six games. His shooting percentages were impressive: 50.5% from the field, 40.0% from three, and 96.3% from the free-throw line. In those six games with Leonard playing, the Clippers went 3-3; however, after his injury, the team’s performance dropped significantly, losing 8 out of 10 games.

Despite the Los Angeles Clippers’ disappointing start to the season, they have not completely fallen out of the Western Conference playoff race. The Utah Jazz currently sit 10th in the West with a 5-10 record, meaning the Clippers, at 5-11, only need slight improvements to get back into play-in contention.

Defensive specialist Dunn initially replaced Leonard in the starting lineup. With injuries to Beal and Derrick Jones Jr., the Clippers added John Collins and Kobe Sanders to the starting five. Therefore, when Leonard returns, one of them—most likely Sanders—will move back to the bench.
