On December 1st, Beijing time, Shandong Women's Basketball Team officially announced that Zhang Ziyu has joined the team. The official statement reads as follows —

After friendly negotiations and mutual agreement, Zhang Ziyu, a rising core interior player of China's women's basketball, has officially signed with Shandong Hi-Speed Basketball Club! Once registered during the December season window, she will wear the Shandong jersey and represent her hometown team in the upcoming WCBA season and other competitions, continuing a new chapter for Shandong women's basketball!
Zhang Ziyu, born in May 2007, stands 2.26 meters tall and weighs 150 kilograms, playing the center position. She impressed at the 2024 U18 Women's Asian Cup, scoring 42 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the final, earning the tournament MVP honors; at the 2025 Women's Asian Cup, she made her senior debut, averaging 15.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, helping China secure third place. Recently at the National Games, she achieved a perfect shooting record of 13-for-13 in just 9 minutes and 58 seconds, and with a 95.6% shooting accuracy (44-for-46) over four games, led the U18 Shandong women's team to the championship.
