Team of the Week: New York Knicks

Underperformers of the Week: Cleveland Cavaliers

Despite entering the season with high hopes, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been among the biggest disappointments in the NBA this year.

Simply put, they seem far from serious contenders, dropping three games last week to the Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors, lowering their record to 12-9 and currently holding only a play-in position.

They lack creativity on offense and struggle defensively, especially with rebounding. Much improvement is needed.

Player of the Week: Luka Doncic

While much attention is on Nikola Jokic and his impressive season, Luka Doncic is also delivering an exceptional campaign.

The Slovenian appears healthy and well-adjusted in Los Angeles following his February transfer to the Lakers . He has developed a remarkable backcourt duo with Austin Reaves, playing a key role in their seven-game winning streak that has propelled them to second place in the Western Conference.

Last week, Luka posted 34 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists against the New Orleans Pelicans, 35 points, five rebounds, and 11 assists against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, and 43 points, nine rebounds, and 13 assists versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

Luka leads the league in scoring this season, averaging 35.1 points per game, making him a strong MVP candidate.

The next day, he led the Mavericks to victory over the Los Angeles Clippers with 35 points, also becoming the youngest player to score 35+ points in a game.

A generational talent, the Mavericks must now build their team around Flagg, even if it means a major rebuild.
