Milwaukee Bucks update: Giannis deletes team-related posts! Once hoped all European players would join big markets—one detail hints at Lakers preference?

On December 3rd, Milwaukee Bucks supporters observed significant changes on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s social media profiles. The “Greek Freak” deleted almost all Bucks-related posts from his Twitter and Instagram, preserving solely the content celebrating the team’s 2021 championship run.

Only pictures related to the team’s NBA Finals and NBA Cup triumphs remain on his accounts. This move naturally sparked panic among Bucks fans who dread seeing their homegrown star traded elsewhere. Giannis’s recent social media activity has also caused concern in Milwaukee about a potentially major upheaval on the horizon. He also updated his Twitter bio to a simple description: “NBA player.”

Giannis’s actions have ignited widespread trade speculation in Milwaukee. Considering his offseason statements prioritizing a championship and his expressed interest in joining the New York Knicks, it’s clear the Greek star is not entirely satisfied with his situation in Milwaukee.

Originally, the Bucks’ performance in the 2025-26 season was expected to influence Giannis’s future decisions. The front office addressed roster weaknesses by signing Myles Turner and offering a one-year contract to Giannis’s brother, Thanasis.

Additionally, comments Giannis made when Luka Dončić was traded to the Lakers resurfaced. He said, “I hope Luka goes to the Lakers, I hope Jokic goes to the Knicks, I want all European players to join big-market teams.” Looking back, this might hint at his own desire to move to a major market franchise.

Several teams’ media and fans have already begun courting Giannis.Notably, after deleting much of his Twitter content, his most recent post dates back to 2021, sending birthday wishes to the late Kobe Bryant. Many Lakers media outlets have shared this, speculating it could be Giannis subtly signaling his interest in the Lakers.

Judging by the Bucks’ performance this season, they may be on the verge of losing their franchise star. So far this year, the team holds a 9-13 record, placing 11th in the Eastern Conference. Without a reliable second option, Giannis has had to carry a heavier load on both ends of the court.

Although Giannis has posted MVP-level stats, the Bucks have lost three of their last four games, including a defeat to the Eastern Conference’s bottom-ranked Wizards. This may have left Giannis feeling deeply frustrated.

During the losing streak, Giannis urged the team to maintain a selfless approach and get back on track. He said, “No one should harbor selfish motives or dwell on personal demands. We must focus solely on the mindset to win; as long as we secure more victories, all problems will be resolved.”

As of now, Giannis has not requested a trade, so the Bucks’ “big ship” may not have fully capsized yet. However, amid Milwaukee’s cold season, a potential storm of roster changes is brewing. Where will Giannis go? This is likely to be a hot topic in the coming period.
