Williamson has been confirmed to miss Tuesday's home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to "right adductor soreness."
ESPN reports that the power forward will undergo a re-assessment in three weeks.
In his latest game, Williamson scored 25 points in a 104-96 defeat to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, and he subsequently missed Sunday’s 133-121 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
A two-time All-Star, Williamson averages 22.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists despite participating in only 10 of 21 games this season for the struggling Pelicans, who have recorded just three wins so far this year.
Originally the first overall pick by New Orleans in 2019, the former Duke Blue Devil has since averaged 24.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists over 224 NBA starts.
