Yang Hansen has been assigned to the Rip City Remix! Set to play tomorrow against the San Diego Clippers, averaging 14.5 points and 11 rebounds in the G League.

As reported by Trail Blazers insider Sean Highkin on December 4th Beijing time, Yang Hansen was demoted to the Trail Blazers’ G League team, the Rip City Remix, and is expected to participate in tomorrow’s matchup against the San Diego Clippers.

In today’s away victory over the Cavaliers, Yang entered the game as a substitute for 5 minutes and 14 seconds, shooting 2-for-2 from the free-throw line and recording 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 block. All his playing time occurred in the first quarter, while he was benched for the remaining three quarters and did not see further action.

Judging from his on-court performance, Yang showed noticeable improvement in his movement and defense. Yet, even with Rowe absent today, Yang performed well but still didn’t receive extended minutes. His 5 minutes and 14 seconds on court was the least among the 10 Trail Blazers players who appeared in the game.

In mid-November, Yang Hansen was also sent down to the Rip City Remix, playing two G League games with stats of 8 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block in one game, and 21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks in the other. He averaged 14.5 points, 11 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks per game.

For Hansen, the G League currently offers a greater opportunity to showcase his skills, as he can get more playing time there and continue to improve through real game experience.

The Rip City Remix head coach previously gave high praise to Hansen. After the second game, he said: “Through continuous refinement in the G League, Hansen has demonstrated his versatility and potential on both ends of the floor... As a head coach, I feel very proud and honored. I believe that with Hansen’s ongoing efforts to sharpen his skills, conditioning, and especially his defense, once he masters these details, he will have the chance to return to the NBA regular season and unleash greater potential and energy.”
