On December 5th Beijing time, Lakers Daily reported that sources reveal after the Clippers sent him home, NBA legend point guard Chris Paul probably will not join another team. Because this veteran guard has had disputes with teammates, coaches, and front office, the Clippers plan to release Paul soon.

Although Paul shares a close personal relationship with LeBron James and Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, reports say he will not sign with the Lakers and likely has already played the last game of his NBA career.
This future Hall of Famer has appeared in 16 games for the Clippers this season, who are currently one of the worst teams in the league. He averages just 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, shooting 32.1% from the field, 33.3% from three, and 50.0% from the free-throw line.
The Lakers currently have one roster spot open but must wait until January 20th before they can officially sign a 15th player.

Additionally, the Lakers remain interested in acquiring Miami Heat small forward Andrew Wiggins via trade.
However, most insiders in the league are skeptical about the Lakers completing this trade, as Heat president Pat Riley is highly unlikely to assist the Purple and Gold.
It is reported that despite more than a decade passing, Riley still has not forgiven LeBron James for leaving Miami in the summer of 2014 to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wiggins has gained significant recognition within the Lakers organization. This athletically gifted wing player not only provides elite defense but can also attack the rim effectively, finish through multiple defenders, and possesses outside shooting ability. The Kansas product has averaged 17.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists this season for the Heat, shooting 47.7% from the field, 36.7% from three, and 73.6% from the free-throw line.
As an All-Star caliber player, Wiggins earns $28.2 million this season, with a player option worth $30.2 million for the 2025-26 campaign.
