Giannis explains the reason behind deleting大量社媒内容: unrelated to trade rumors? He vows to break through obstacles

On December 7th Beijing time, although many focused on Giannis clearing大量Bucks-related content from his social media this week, this move does not automatically mean he is setting the stage for a trade.

NBA reporter Haynes revealed a conversation he had with Giannis,in which the two-time regular season MVP stated that when obstacles arise before him, he wants to “break through those obstacles and address the issues.”Regarding the social media cleanup, Haynes noted that Giannis had deleted大量posts “three to four weeks ago,” which included not only Bucks-related posts but also many photos with family and friends.

Giannis referred to an interview earlier this year with Michael B. Jordan, the American actor, who quoted advice from Denzel Washington about managing one’s career and public image. Jordan relayed Washington’s words: “If people can watch you for free all week, why would they pay to see you on the weekend?”

According to Haynes, Giannis said that it was from this perspective that he decided to clear most of his social media content.

Currently, Giannis’s Instagram account has only 14 posts left, with the first four being advertisements or commercial collaborations. However, he has kept photos related to the Bucks’ 2021 NBA Finals championship and last season’s NBA Cup victory.

None of these circumstances clarify whether Giannis’s future with the Bucks is about to be decided. Insider Shams previously reported that Giannis and his agent are in talks with the Bucks, exploring whether staying in Milwaukee or moving to another team is the best option.

Based on publicly available information, Giannis has not requested a trade.Shams reported in October that Giannis’s team conducted due diligence on other teams during the offseason, with the New York Knicks being the only other team besides the Bucks that he is willing to play for.

Another reporter, Fischer, revealed that negotiations between the Knicks and Bucks this summer reached a stage where Giannis told a Bucks teammate he believed a trade to New York was “within reach.”

Giannis’s final decision remains unknown. The nine-time All-Star has expressed his desire to join the ranks of legendary players who are synonymous with one city, but only if it does not come at the cost of the team’s ability to compete for championships consistently.

Meanwhile, the Bucks are currently struggling to return to championship contention. To sign Myles Turner, the team used the taxpayer mid-level exception to waive Damian Lillard, who still had two years and $112.6 million left on his contract, throwing the team’s salary cap into disarray; furthermore, they will not regain their own first-round draft pick until 2031.

Making matters worse, Giannis suffered a calf strain in the first quarter of the game against the Pistons, and coach Rivers indicated he is expected to miss four weeks. After starting the season 8-5, the Bucks have lost 9 of their last 11 games and have fallen to tenth place in the Eastern Conference.
