NBA announces Players of the Week! Murray earns his first career honor, Brown averages 34+6+5 to make the list

On December 9th Beijing time, the NBA officially announced the Week 7 Players of the Week. Jamal Murray of the Nuggets was selected as the Western Conference Player of the Week, his first time ever winning this accolade. Jaylen Brown of the Celtics took home the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award, marking his fifth career selection and first this season. Other nominees included Alexander and Jokic.

Western Conference Player of the Week: Murray (Nuggets)

Over the past week, Murray averaged 29.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game, shooting 59.5% from the field and an impressive 62.1% from beyond the arc, helping the Nuggets achieve a 3-1 record.

Against the Mavericks, Murray posted 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists; versus the Pacers, he bounced back strongly with 52 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, hitting 10 of 11 three-pointers; in the game against the Hawks, he recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 12 assists; and against the Hornets, he contributed 34 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists.

So far this season, Murray has played 22 games for the Nuggets, averaging 25 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists, with shooting percentages of 50.6% from the field, 44.7% from three-point range, and 89.8% from the free-throw line.

Eastern Conference Player of the Week: Brown (Celtics)

In the past week, Brown averaged 34 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game, leading the Celtics to a perfect 4-0 record.

Brown appeared in three of those games, scoring 42 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists against the Knicks; putting up 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists versus the Lakers; and delivering 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in the matchup with the Raptors.

This season, Brown has played 23 games for the Celtics, averaging 29.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, with shooting splits of 49.6% from the field, 36.3% from three, and 78.5% from the free-throw line.
