Zhao Rui scored 10 points in his debut, Zhou Qi shot 5-for-6 to contribute 12 points and 8 rebounds, as Beijing easily defeated Jiangsu to secure a winning start.

On December 13th Beijing time, during the CBA regular season, Beijing team secured a comfortable 84-74 victory over Jiangsu, successfully starting their campaign with a win.

Jiangsu’s Giles put up 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks, while Pang Zhenglin contributed 16 points and 4 assists; Beijing’s Jerman scored 19 points with 4 assists, Chen Yingjun had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, Spellman added 14 points and 10 rebounds, Zhou Qi posted 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks, and Zhao Rui finished with 10 points and 4 assists.

In the first quarter, Zhou Qi scored a floater under the basket, Spellman and Zhao Rui hit consecutive three-pointers, and Zhou Qi easily finished at the rim as Beijing started strong with a 12-2 run. Spellman and Chen Yingjun made mid-range shots, Zhou Qi delivered an impressive fast-break dunk, Jerman nailed a long-range shot, Chen Yingjun completed a fast-break layup, and Madiang successfully converted a layup, helping Beijing lead 25-11. Giles scored with a hook shot inside, Pang Zhenglin hit a three-pointer, and Liu Zhengqing along with Pang Zhenglin continued to score, bringing Jiangsu back to 22-28. Zhao Rui hit a three-pointer to help Beijing close the quarter leading 31-22.

In the second quarter, Spellman and Jerman stepped up to score consecutively, Raymond cut in for a layup, and Chen Yingjun’s three-pointer also found the net, extending Beijing’s lead to 42-28. Yan made a floater under the basket, Liu Zhengqing and Liu Zexi hit back-to-back three-pointers, Giles slammed a dunk on a breakaway, and Liu Zexi’s floater under the basket went in, as Jiangsu fought back hard. By halftime, Beijing led narrowly at 47-43.

During the third quarter, Zhou Qi’s put-back was successful, Jerman hit a tough three-pointer, Spellman made a fadeaway jumper, Zhou Qi delivered a dunk, and Chen Yingjun scored 5 points from mid-range shots, helping Beijing extend their lead to 61-50. Chen Yingjun nailed a free-throw line jumper, Spellman hit a three-pointer, Fan Ziming scored from mid-range, and Chen Yingjun’s three-pointer went in again, allowing Beijing to firmly maintain their advantage and finish the quarter leading 74-60.

In the final quarter, Zhao Rui drove in for a layup, Spellman easily completed a put-back dunk, and Beijing maintained a 15-point lead at 81-66. The remainder of the game held no surprises as Beijing kept control and secured the victory as planned.
