On December 18th, during the CBA regular season, Shanxi comfortably beat Zhejiang 102-91, with Zhejiang suffering losses in all their first three matches.

In the opening quarter, Johnson scored a mid-range shot, Randolph nailed a step-back three-pointer, and Johnson followed up with a put-back; Liu Chuanxing and Norvell contributed points together, Hegens made a 2+1 play, and the score was tied at 7-all. Norvell hit a mid-range jumper, Liu combined drives and jumpers to score repeatedly; Randolph caught fire from outside with two consecutive threes, and the teams were locked at 13-all. Norvell’s floater went in, Zhang Ning sank a three, and both Jia Mingru and Diallo made jump shots; Liu Zeyi scored under the basket, Johnson aggressively attacked the rim for 5 points, and Jones made an easy layup, tying the game again at 23-all. Jia Hailong completed a 2+1 play, Faye scored inside, Jia Mingru hit a long-range shot, and Faye added an easy put-back, helping Shanxi lead 34-29 at the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter, Lu Wenbo and York hit three consecutive three-pointers, tying the game at 38-all. Jia Mingru and Jia Hailong each made jump shots, Norvell’s mid-range shot showed its strength, Zhang Ning nailed a three, Norvell’s jumper went in, and Jia Hailong made a smooth layup; Lu Wenbo completed a successful and-one, Wu Qian hit an open three, Johnson scored 7 points combining inside and outside plays, and the teams remained tied at 53-all. Wu Qian made a buzzer-beating three-pointer, helping Zhejiang take a 58-53 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Zhang Ning made a jump shot, Wu Qian drove for a layup, and Ge Zhaobao’s mid-range jumper helped Shanxi close in at 61-62. Wu Qian hit a long-range shot, Liu Zeyi made a spin layup, Johnson scored an easy floater, Lu Wenbo completed a 2+1 play, and Randolph’s three-pointer helped Zhejiang pull ahead 75-67. Diallo’s three-pointer sparked Shanxi’s comeback attempt. At the end of the quarter, Zhejiang led 78-74.

In the final quarter, Diallo and Liu Chuanxing attacked the basket, helping Shanxi tie the game at 78-all. Liu Chuanxing scored a layup, Jia Mingru and Zhang Ning each hit three-pointers, followed by another long-range shot from Jia Mingru, allowing Shanxi to pull away to 94-83. Diallo made a spin layup, Liu Chuanxing scored on a put-back, extending Shanxi’s lead to 100-87. Shanxi maintained their advantage firmly through the rest of the game and secured the victory as expected.
