On December 19th Beijing time, according to renowned reporter Sidery, the Chicago Bulls are interested in acquiring Jonathan Kuminga in exchange for Nikola Vucevic. The Golden State Warriors showed significant interest in Vucevic last season but were unwilling to meet the Bulls' asking price at that time. The Bulls started this season strong but have since struggled, prompting them to reopen trade talks involving Vucevic.

As early as October this year, Sports Illustrated recommended that the Bulls and Warriors consider trading Vucevic for Kuminga. Vucevic’s playing style fits well with the Warriors’ tactical system. At 35 years old, he is a spacing big man who can protect the rim and also shoot three-pointers from outside.
The biggest uncertainty in this potential deal lies in how the exact trade terms will be structured. Kuminga is younger, and so far this season, Vucevic averages 15.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game with a shooting percentage of 48.5% and a three-point rate of 38.3%. Kuminga averages 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, shooting 43.8% from the field and 32% from beyond the arc.

The final details of the trade will depend on the future performances of both players and, more importantly, on how urgent each team is before the 2026 trade deadline. Whether either side includes role players, two-way contract players, or draft picks will be crucial to whether the trade can be completed.
The proposal initially suggested by Sports Illustrated was a 2-for-2 swap —

Bulls receive: Kuminga, Moody
Warriors receive: Vucevic, Dosunmu
This trade would allow both teams to embark on new paths. The Bulls would acquire two young players likely to secure starting roles in their long-term plans, while the Warriors would gain a seasoned veteran plus a role player to strengthen their roster depth. Do you think the Warriors should make this trade with the Bulls?
