As reported on February 13th Beijing time by a Thunder team representative to ESPN, star forward Jalen Williams has suffered a second right hamstring strain within less than a month and will be re-assessed after the All-Star break.

Williams will be absent from today’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. He first got injured on January 18th, made his comeback during Monday’s away victory over the Lakers, and played 10 games. However, his previous injury worsened during the road win against the Phoenix Suns, forcing an early exit. In that game, he was performing exceptionally well: scoring 28 points on 11 of 12 shooting in 20 minutes before leaving in the third quarter.

This season, regular-season MVP Shai Alexander and reserve player Ajayi Mitchell have also been sidelined for extended periods due to abdominal strains.
Jalen Williams was a key figure in the Thunder’s championship push last season and signed a max contract extension during the offseason. He missed the first 19 games of this season due to right wrist surgery and is currently averaging 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. Statistics show that in the 26 games Williams has played this season, the Thunder hold a 19-7 record, while in the 29 games he has missed, the team stands at 23-6.
