On February 24th Beijing time, Pelicans reporter Gillory shared that Dejounte Murray anticipates making his first appearance of the season tomorrow. The Pelicans will face the Warriors at home.

Pelicans guard Murray has been out since suffering a right Achilles tear on February 1, 2025, but is now close to returning. Reporter Rod Walker added that the ex-All-Star completed full training sessions last Thursday and Friday.
“He’s almost back,” said interim Pelicans coach Borrego after Friday’s practice. “I believe within the next week, he’ll be back on the NBA court, which is incredible.”

Murray was acquired by the Pelicans from the Hawks during the 2024 offseason. His start in New Orleans has been rough: he fractured his left hand in the 2024-25 season opener, causing him to miss 17 games, and months later suffered an Achilles tear.
The 29-year-old guard appeared in 31 games last season, averaging 32.6 minutes with 17.5 points, 7.4 assists, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. However, his offensive efficiency was modest, shooting 39.3% overall, 29.9% from three, and 82.3% from the free-throw line.
Borrego expressed optimism about the impact of this former All-Defensive team guard upon his return. “I have high expectations for him,” Borrego said. “He just went through a major injury, but everything I’ve seen is encouraging, and I’m excited to see him play.”
