Insider Shams states:Jazz guard Little Vince Williams has been confirmed to have a left knee ACL tear, ruling him out for the season.

In the recently concluded Rockets 125-105 Jazz match, in the second quarter, Wenwei was hit by Rockets forward Eason while running, resulting in an obvious severe hyperextension of his left leg, after which he was carried off the court for medical attention.

Eason feels deeply remorseful, personally visited Wenwei to apologize, and expressed that he never intended to injure anyone deliberately.

Wenwei was born on August 30, 2000, stands 1.93 meters tall with a 2.10-meter wingspan, was the 17th pick in the second round of the 2022 draft. This season, in his contract year, he earns $2.49 million annually and averages 7.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 20.4 minutes per game, shooting 35.3%, 31.1%, and 78% in three categories respectively.

Considering Wenwei is only 25 years old, this severe injury does not necessarily end his NBA career, but it will clearly have a significant impact. At the very least, he won’t be able to secure a big contract for the next few years. His total earnings over his four-year career amount to approximately $6.65 million.
