The NBA official website has published the newest rookie rankings, with Knipel (Hornets), Flagg (Mavericks), and Achikum (76ers) leading the top three positionsfollowed by Quinn (Pelicans), Reno (Kings), Harper (Spurs), Coward (Grizzlies), Bailey (Jazz), Jemin (Nets), Fears (Pelicans), and Boyles (Raptors) right behind them.

Knipel, also from Duke University, born on August 3, 2005, was the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2025 draft. Standing 1.98 meters tall as a versatile forward-guard, he currently averages 19.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 43.6% from the field and sinking 3.5 three-pointers per game, with a total of 201 three-pointers made, becoming the first player this season to surpass 200 three-pointers.

This guy is indeed extraordinarily accurate, and if he makes just 6 more three-pointers to reach 207, he will become the NBA’s all-time rookie leader in three-pointers made. Keegan Murray (Kings), the fourth pick in the 2022 draft, made 206 three-pointers over 80 games in the 2022-23 season.

If nothing unexpected happens, Knipel is set to be the brightest rookie of the 2025 class, and his future matchups with Flagg will frequently be a highlight in the NBA.
