On March 4th, Beijing time, as the Lakers host the Pelicans, LeBron James is poised to reach another significant milestone, claiming the all-time lead in career field goals made.

Throughout his regular season career so far, James has made 15,827 field goals, ranking second in history. The leader, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, has made 15,837. This means James needs just 11 more field goals to surpass Kareem and become the NBA's all-time leader in this category.

So far this season, James has played in 42 games, and in 5 of those he has made at least 11 field goals. Therefore, achieving the milestone in today's game is not highly probable, but he is expected to reach it very soon.
On an ESPN program, team reporter Dave McMenamin discussed James's Lakers career. Now in his eighth year with the Lakers, James already has multiple statistics ranking within the franchise's all-time top ten. Specifically: 2nd in three-pointers made, 2nd in triple-doubles, 2nd in assists per game, 5th in total assists, 8th in defensive rebounds, 4th in points per game, and 10th in total points.

McMenamin also stated, "This is already the fourth chapter of LeBron James's career, and theoretically, it could be his 'Last Dance,' potentially ending after this season. We'll have to wait and see. When you combine his achievements with the Lakers—adding the championship and the Finals MVP—within arguably the NBA's greatest franchise, he absolutely deserves to be considered a legend."
"I think people rarely view his Lakers tenure from this perspective, but it's at least worth acknowledging: he has made numerous contributions during his time with the Lakers, truly outstanding contributions. Not to mention he delivered a championship to this franchise, right? I believe because it happened in the bubble under unique circumstances, people view it differently. But the Lakers' most recent championship bears James's imprint everywhere."
