On March 4th Beijing time, Warriors player Draymond Green added a new "honor" to his 14-year career: being name-dropped in a K-pop song.

In the song "Me and My" from the third studio album "Deadline" released this Friday by the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, Green gets a mention.

"Just me and my old buddies, pretty girls walkin' over. We shine like Draymond, they gotta pay just to get in to see us," sings BLACKPINK member Lisa.
Green expressed his delight about the mention in a recent interview. "This is really exciting, man," Green said in an interview yesterday. "Getting a shoutout in a rap song is cool. But getting a shoutout in a K-pop song? That's when you know you've really made it."
Bay Area media noted that Green is right, this is a big deal. BLACKPINK is currently one of the most popular groups in K-pop, with an average of 24.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify. This isn't the first time Green has been referenced in popular music—in Drake's song "Summer Sixteen," the renowned rapper compared his bodyguard Chubs to Green, describing his physique and protective nature.
Green also mentioned that his most coveted shoutout would be from Jay-Z. He stated he leans more towards being a hip-hop fan, but this mention still thrilled him.
"I'm waiting to listen to this song with my kids; we were planning to listen on the way to the game," Green said. "My daughters love K-pop."
It might not compare to his four championship trophies, four All-Star selections, or Defensive Player of the Year award, but Green is genuinely grateful for this recognition.
