Debunking two hot topics: Curry isn't annoyed with me, he agrees with me; if he can play, he won't be shut down for the season.

On March 5th Beijing time, Warriors player Draymond addressed two hot rumors in his latest podcast: one about Curry's reaction during a sideline exchange with teammates, and the other about rumors that the Warriors might shut Curry down for the season. Draymond's response is as follows—

In the clip of me talking with teammates on the bench, Curry's reaction went viral online. I saw many people interpreting it as, "Oh, Curry is fed up with Green." But honestly, from my perspective of communicating with Curry daily, his genuine attitude in that video was agreement with what I was saying. We were getting blown out at that moment, and no one was in a mood to smile or get excited.

I find it amusing how everyone projects their own feelings about me onto Curry. Honestly, those sentiments mean nothing to me. Online comments saying "he's fed up with Green" act as if you all are annoyed with me yourselves. The reality is: if you're annoyed by me, you can choose not to watch, or keep quiet, because it changes nothing.

That moment, I actually found the outside reaction funny. If I were just watching the video casually, I wouldn't overthink it, because I was there—I know the real emotions, I know how everyone felt during that timeout. But the netizens' interpretations did entertain me.

Additionally, regarding Curry, there were reports that he will remain out and be re-evaluated in the next 10 days, meaning he'll miss at least the next five games. I saw many people saying, "Oh, they should just tank and not bring Curry back this season."

Let me tell you something: as long as Curry is able to play, he absolutely will not be shut down for the season.

I'm so sure of this because of the 2019-2020 season—the one after Durant's Achilles tear and Klay's ACL tear—when Curry eventually suffered a hand fracture and only played a few games early before being sidelined long-term.

You might recall, that season was shortened due to the pandemic, ending with the bubble restart. We were terrible, getting blown out every night.

I remember around February, I was dealing with a minor injury myself and missed a few weeks. Curry pulled me aside and asked, "How's your body feeling?"

I said I was okay, not out of shape, but not in peak game condition since I hadn't played much.

He asked, "How long do you need to get ready? I'm planning to come back." You have to understand, we finished that season 15-50. When he asked me this, we were around 15-47.

He said, "I'm ramping up to return, and I want to play with you. How long do you need?"

I said at most a week, a few days of practice and I'd be ready.

He said, "Okay, that's perfect."

The point I'm making is this: even when the team only had 15 wins, he was prepared to come back because he loves basketball. Later, the pandemic hit, the season was suspended, and he didn't get to return, but he was ready to.

So from my experience, I can tell you: he won't sit out just to tank. That's not in his character. Everyone is saying "shut Curry down and tank," but I can also confidently say: Joe Lacob wouldn't allow a tank either.
