Returning from his absence, Yang Hansen started and played approximately 30 minutes. He shot 13 for 10, including 3 for 1 from three-point range, scoring 21 points with an exceptionally high efficiency of around 77% shooting. He also contributed 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks for a comprehensive stat line, with a plus-minus of +18.He led the Rip City Remix to a 132-122 victory over the Valley Suns, with his points, assists, steals, and blocks all setting new personal career highs in the G League.

So far this season, Yang Hansen has played 10 games in the G League, averaging 16.6 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game, with a field goal percentage of 55%. It is evident that when he is physically fresh, he can easily handle competition at the developmental league level. However, as the No. 16 pick in the first round of the 2025 draft, he still needs to prove himself in the official NBA games.

Up to now, Yang Hansen has played 37 official NBA games, starting once, averaging 7.4 minutes per appearance. He averages 2.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.6 assists, with shooting percentages of 29.7%, 12.5%, and 80.8%. Although he briefly earned rotation minutes, he has mostly appeared during garbage time in more games and has not yet gained sufficient trust from the Trail Blazers coaching staff.

The Trail Blazers' current record is 30 wins and 34 losses, ranking 10th in the Western Conference. They trail the sixth-place Lakers by 8.5 wins and lead the 11th-place Grizzlies by 5.5 wins. While direct playoff qualification is unlikely, they are very hopeful of securing a spot in the play-in tournament. Naturally, the remaining schedule this season will prioritize wins, making it even less likely that effort will be devoted to developing young players.

At this stage, it is beneficial for Yang Hansen to hone his skills in the G League to adapt to the game rhythm and build confidence. His rookie season can be viewed as an adjustment period to the NBA. Next season, he must and will truly begin to fulfill his potential, because the four-year $21.39 million standard rookie contract he signed last summer is fully guaranteed only for the first two years, with the latter two years being team options.

Additionally, Yang Hansen may not return to the national team for the World Cup Qualifiers third window games against Japan on July 3rd and against Chinese Taipei on July 6th. He might choose to participate in the NBA Summer League again instead.
