Once again dominating the Timberwolves, Kawhi Leonard is playing an unstoppable brand of basketball.

153-128, the eighth-seeded Clippers once again crushed the fifth-seeded (before the game) Timberwolves. Why say "once again"? Because about a month ago, the Clippers beat the Timberwolves by 21 points; today it was an even more exaggerated 25-point margin.

In that game a month ago, Leonard shot 14 out of 30, scoring 41 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Thirty attempts is a very high number for Leonard—it was his season-high for single-game attempts. Even in his 55-point game, he only took 26 shots.

You can also see Timberwolves coach Finch's strategy against Leonard: let him play one-on-one, rotating different defenders to wear him down. Shooting 14 out of 30 isn't outstanding efficiency for Leonard. Finch's strategy might have had a slight effect, but not much, because Leonard still dominated every defender he faced.

In today's game, Finch mostly continued with single coverage on Leonard, no double-teams, letting him face different defenders, and once again Leonard demolished each one. The plot was similar, the outcome identical, but the process was even more brutal.

Because today, Leonard shot 15 out of 20, 6 out of 9 from three-point range, and 9 out of 10 from the free-throw line, racking up 45 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, with only 1 turnover and no fouls. His plus-minus reached an insane +41, while the second-highest plus-minus on the Clippers was only +19.

Such an astonishing plus-minus only indicates one thing: whenever Leonard is on the court, the team is winning. Regardless of who his teammates are or what defensive lineup he faces, every minute he plays torments the Timberwolves.

He missed only five shots all game: two in the first quarter, one in the second, and two in the third. That's all the shots Leonard missed. In the first quarter, he shot 8 out of 10, with three dunks at the rim, three against Gobert, one trailing three-pointer against Reid, and one layup over Randle. When Leonard had scored 18 points, the Timberwolves' entire team had only 16.

In the second half, his three-point shooting exploded completely. In the third quarter, he hit 3 out of 3 from beyond the arc, leaving McDaniels utterly frustrated. His final basket, facing a double-team from Reid and McDaniels in the corner, still hit a mid-range jumper—the shot that made the Timberwolves completely give up, crushing their last psychological barrier.

To be fair, are the Timberwolves' defense poor? Absolutely not. Their offensive and defensive efficiency rankings are both ninth in the league. They're certainly not a top-tier powerhouse, but they're definitely not a bad defensive team either. Gobert is a four-time Defensive Player of the Year winner, yet Leonard scored on him in various ways in the first quarter—after pick-and-rolls, targeting him specifically, hitting threes, mid-range shots, and shots at the rim.

The Timberwolves have three 6'9" forwards, seemingly perfect for a rotation against Leonard, yet none could stop him. Crucially, his style of play isn't overly taxing; he doesn't demand excessive ball possession, aiming for the most efficient finishes, and even while facing double-teams, he managed to dish out 5 assists.

How do you defend such a player? Probably only Victor Wembanyama can bring enough defensive intimidation to Leonard. For other defenders, on nights like this, you can only pray his next shot misses.

Scoring 45 points with a 92.2% true shooting percentage is a Clippers franchise record. For me, Leonard's 45 points today was no less震撼 than Adebayo's惊天动地的83 points yesterday, even though the score difference is nearly 40 points—it's a completely different viewing experience.

Meanwhile, the Clippers scoring 153 points also achieved a 78.2% true shooting percentage, the highest single-game shooting efficiency in Clippers history. When asked how the Clippers scored 153 points in this game, Tyronn Lue replied, "Kawhi Leonard."

After this game, the Clippers' record stands at 33 wins and 32 losses, with a winning percentage above 50%, placing them eighth in the West. Since the Clippers were 6-21 and Tyronn Lue set a goal of 35 wins and 20 losses, the team has achieved a 27-11 record, with Leonard playing a pivotal role.

He has entered another peak in his career, both in physical condition and technical skill level. For a long time, his body has never been this healthy. His scoring has reached career highs, and his ability to score consecutively is among the best in the league today.

Recently, Dillon Brooks, who is recovering from injury, mentioned that trash-talking to Kawhi doesn't work. Kawhi only replies, "Relax, brother, just play ball, come on." Even if you try to choke him, push him, or bump him physically, Kawhi still says, "Hey man, just play ball," then walks over and hits a fadeaway jumper.

He truly is someone who never gets provoked, or perhaps his way of expressing anger isn't by confronting you red-faced, but by venting emotion through each shot while defeating his opponent. No matter the storms or upheavals, Leonard just plays basketball.

In the post-game interview, Leonard said, "I thank God every day for allowing me to play basketball." Many only see his recurring injuries, but fail to see how much effort Leonard has put in to be able to stand on the court again.

When he returns, when he stands on the court, he remains the epitome of an all-around offensive and defensive player in the league. He can even become better—not to prove anything anew, but to reclaim what should have always belonged to him.
