WOW~
Rupert shot 9 out of 19 from the field and 13 out of 16 from free throws, scoring 33 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists for a super triple-double. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies lost to the Bucks 115-131.
This guy recorded his first career triple-double, and the 33 points also set a new personal single-game scoring high in his NBA career.

So far, Rupert has played 14 games for the Grizzlies, starting 7 times, averaging 29.6 minutes per game with contributions of 11.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals. His three shooting percentages are 43.7%, 38.8%, and 80.6%. Before this season during his time with the Trail Blazers, he played 48 games all as a substitute, averaging 12 minutes per game with 2.9 points and 1.8 rebounds. His three shooting percentages there were 36.1%, 31%, and 64.3%.
Indeed, a change can bring new life; what he lacked was just an opportunity where he was valued and utilized.

In February this year, the Trail Blazers had to waive Rupert to free up a roster spot in order to convert Sisoko to a standard contract. Rupert then signed a 10-day short-term contract with the Grizzlies and fortunately seized the opportunity successfully. Due to his excellent performance, he has already been re-signed on a two-way contract.

This guy was born on May 31, 2004. He is a wing player with a height of 2.01 meters and a wingspan of 2.18 meters. He was the 13th pick in the second round of the 2023 draft and is a fellow Frenchman of Wembanyama.
Actually, the Trail Blazers did quite enough for Rupert, diligently developing him for two and a half seasons before parting ways with him.

However, even though Rupert's stats look good, it doesn't mean his position is secure. After all, data produced on a team without playoff pressure isn't always highly recognized.
Former NBA player Lofton, who once scored 42 points and grabbed 14 rebounds wearing the Grizzlies jersey in the final game of the 22-23 regular season, is now just making a living with the Shanghai team in the CBA.

Of course, considering Rupert is still very young and indeed has had standout performances with the Grizzlies, he still has a good chance of receiving an NBA contract this summer. At least for the short term, he shouldn't end up like Lofton, having to bring his talent to the CBA or other overseas leagues.

So far this season, the Trail Blazers rank 9th in the West with a record of 40 wins and 38 losses, tying with the 8th-place Clippers. The Grizzlies rank 11th in the West with a record of 25 wins and 53 losses, having already been completely eliminated from the play-in tournament.
