Announced! The 19-man roster! Chinese Men's Basketball Team excludes the scoring champion

The Chinese Men's Basketball Team has announced the short-term training camp roster, with a total of 19 players selected, as follows:

Liao Sanning (Beijing Control);

Jiang Weize (Jilin);

Jiang Haoran, Pang Zhenglin (Jiangsu);

Zhao Baiqing (Tongxi);

Zou Yang, Liu Jinyu, Yang Xihao (Fujian);

Duan Ruiqi (Sichuan);

Li Yanze, Qi Lin, Feng Ao, Aizimaiti, Yili Fulati, Yang Rui (Xinjiang);

Xian Taicheng, Shi Kui (Tsinghua University);

Zhao Weilun, Wang Junjie (overseas players).

Meanwhile, the Chinese Men's Basketball Team has announced the warm-up match opponents: on June 21st against the Australian Men's Basketball Team; on June 22nd, the Australian Men's Basketball Team against the Dutch Men's Basketball Team; on June 23rd, the Chinese Men's Basketball Team against the Dutch Men's Basketball Team. In the third window period of the World Cup qualifiers this summer in July, the Chinese Men's Basketball Team will once again face the Japanese Men's Basketball Team and the Chinese Taipei Team.

All the selected players have concluded their season's journey. Chinese Men's Basketball Team head coach Guo Shiqiang is taking this opportunity to evaluate them. Of course, players like Wang Junjie and Liao Sanning, who have already proven themselves early on, are mainly being brought in to re-experience the national team atmosphere.

In summary, there's little to comment on regarding this short-term training camp roster. At this stage, those who could be selected have been selected, and those who weren't selected simply couldn't be included, such as Lin Wei and Guo Haowen—one reportedly has conflicts with Guo Shiqiang, the other is entangled in off-court scandalous news...

In his first season of NCAA career, Lin Wei played for Oregon University, averaging 6.6 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, and has applied for a transfer; Guo Haowen is the domestic player scoring champion of this season's CBA regular season, averaging 20.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists.

A pity, truly a pity.

Lin Wei (22 years old) and Guo Haowen (26 years old) each have their own characteristics and are very young. Most importantly, both have already made a name for themselves. They should have been key development targets for the Chinese Men's Basketball Team, but unfortunately, the criteria for national team selection do not solely focus on talent and ability.

However, without national team duties, the benefit is that overseas players like Lin Wei can better focus on their personal career development and continue advancing toward their dreams (NBA).
