How can the Trail Blazers acquire Brown? U.S. media reveals a three-team trade framework, Yang Hansen may welcome an FMVP teammate

On June 13, Beijing time, according to renowned reporter Stein, the Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, and Atlanta Hawks are all interested in Jaylen Brown, while the Bucks may strike a deal with the Celtics regarding Antetokounmpo, with Brown serving as the key piece. Stein earlier indicated that the Bucks plan to bring the Trail Blazers into a future multi-team trade involving Antetokounmpo.

Stein previously noted that the Bucks are interested in including the Trail Blazers in a subsequent multi-team trade for Giannis. They hope to reclaim some draft assets—assets that were sent to the Trail Blazers ahead of the 2023-24 season in the Damian Lillard trade. This gives the Trail Blazers a clear advantage over the Rockets and Hawks.

The Trail Blazers are willing to take on Brown because the former Finals MVP can help elevate the team's competitiveness and move them toward the Western Conference elite. Brown would become the team's top scorer and help establish a distinct playing style. Brown had a great time in China during this offseason, and Chinese player Yang Hansen may soon have this superstar as a teammate.

Sports Illustrated has revealed a proposed trade framework involving Giannis and Brown, with the Celtics, Trail Blazers, and Bucks participating—

Celtics receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Trail Blazers receive: Jaylen Brown

Bucks receive: Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, Jerami Grant; a 2026 Celtics first-round pick, a 2029 Bucks first-round pick (returned by the Trail Blazers), plus two pick swap rights (also returned by the Trail Blazers to the Bucks)

In this trade proposal, the Trail Blazers send away young guards Henderson and Sharpe, making the team's roster hierarchy and direction much clearer; the Bucks officially embark on a rebuilding path. The Trail Blazers trade Grant for salary matching, while also giving up three future draft assets obtained in the Lillard trade; the Celtics add an extra first-round pick from this year and successfully acquire Antetokounmpo.

For the Trail Blazers, this trade is highly feasible. After the deal, the starting lineup would consist of Lillard, Deni Avdija, Brown, Toumani Camara, and Donovan Clingan—a starting five capable of competing at the top level in the West. Jrue Holiday could come off the bench as the sixth man. Clingan's rim protection, combined with the perimeter defense of Camara and Brown, could compensate for the defensive weaknesses of Lillard and Avdija.

The big three of Avdija, Brown, and Lillard would give the Trail Blazers a fighting chance in the highly competitive Western Conference. For the current Trail Blazers, this is exactly what the team needs: a clear development direction without having to pay exorbitant salaries or mortgage future assets.
