On June 19, Beijing time, over the past three years, dozens of construction workers have moved into LeBron James' plot in Beverly Hills, beginning work on the private manor that the Lakers star has long envisioned.

This week, the streets around James' home and the estate itself are crowded with workers, construction trucks, and heavy equipment, signaling that the building of this colossal mansion is in a busy finishing stage. Photos taken yesterday by the California Post show a steady stream of building materials being brought in, with numerous workers hammering and working across the vast site to complete various final touches.

Compared to images captured last November, the progress is now visibly significant. A large circular pit has been dug in the front yard, the purpose of which remains unclear, likely for a water feature, a circular driveway, or a garage entrance. The main structure is much more complete, and the landscaping has also been enhanced.

James bought this piece of land as early as 2020 for $37 million. He demolished the old buildings on the site, obtained all necessary construction permits, and the project officially broke ground in 2023.
He plans to build two separate luxury homes on the property: the main house, covering 7,700 square feet (about 715 square meters), is very spacious; the secondary building will be equipped with various high-end leisure facilities, including a cold and hot constant-temperature ice bath. Both buildings will be surrounded by 10-foot (about 3 meters) high walls and feature top-tier security systems.

There is no exact move-in date yet, but by the time James gets the keys to his new home, his team might no longer be the Lakers.
When the NBA's new season window opens early next month, James will officially become a free agent. Rumors are swirling everywhere, and even though he now owns this luxurious new home in Los Angeles, the future Hall of Famer's career in the purple and gold may also be coming to an end.
