Reporter Amick:LaVine will exercise his $49 million player option for the 2026-27 season.

This player, born on March 10, 1995, is a shooting guard with a height of 1.96m and a wingspan of 2.04m. His dunking prowess is second to none, and he boasts excellent scoring skills. Throughout his NBA career, he has averaged 20.7 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, knocking down 2.4 three-pointers per contest at a 39.1% clip. In his 13 seasons so far, he has made two All-Star appearances but only played in one playoff series (2021-22 season), which ended in the first round.

Due to his teams' consistently poor performance over the years, despite his individual brilliance, LaVine has been labeled a "stat-padder" and is considered not worth his $40 million+ annual salary. As a result, he has constantly been placed on the trade block. The Kings will continue to shop him this summer, and they might even use the stretch provision to waive him.

Last season, the Kings finished with a dismal 22-60 record, ranking 14th in the Western Conference. They hold the seventh overall pick this year and are about to embark on another rebuilding journey.

So, not just LaVine but also core members DeRozan and Sabonis are waiting for the verdict of a potential trade.
