BIG3 League Official: Beasley and Stephenson Each Suspended One Game After Misconduct Ejection

On June 22, Beijing time, the BIG3 League released a statement imposing a one-game suspension each on Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley for their misconduct during and after the match between Miami 305 and the Los Angeles Riots.

After a thorough review of the full altercation footage, the league concluded that their behavior breached the professional standards, court respect, and sportsmanship principles expected of all players. Competitive play is the core of the league. We accept reasonable high-intensity competition and allow on-court trash talk, but we will not tolerate any form of fighting. Upholding fairness and integrity in the games and ensuring the safety of everyone on and off the court remains our top priority.

Both players have received their suspension notices. To guarantee that Miami 305 can field at least four registered players for each game, Stephenson will serve his suspension during the second week of the season, while Beasley's suspension will be deferred to the third week.

Beasley and Stephenson were ejected during yesterday's game. With only two players left on the court, Miami 305 was consequently forced to forfeit the match. During the game, Beasley was involved in a physical altercation with Dwight Howard, while Stephenson punched Jordan Crawford after a hard foul.

Even before the altercation, this highly anticipated matchup drew significant attention, featuring numerous former NBA stars: Howard, Beasley, Stephenson, Crawford, and Mario Chalmers. Moreover, Miami 305 were the defending league champions.

The heated clash between Beasley and Howard was especially noteworthy, as the two were once NBA teammates. During the 2015-2016 season, they both played for the Houston Rockets, who advanced to the playoffs but were eliminated in the first round by the Golden State Warriors.

That season, Beasley played 20 games for the Rockets, then spent the next three years moving between the Bucks, Knicks, and Lakers. Howard appeared in 71 games that season for the Rockets, which was his final season with the team; he later joined the Hawks, Hornets, Wizards, Lakers, and 76ers.

Howard was inducted into the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class. His last NBA regular season was in 2021-22. Beasley last played in the NBA during the 2018-19 season.
