On August 8, 2025, the induction ceremony for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is set to take place in about a month. To prepare for this event, the official list of presenters has been released. There are 9 members in the Hall of Fame for 2025, and their presenters are equally illustrious. They will deliver speeches during the induction ceremony to honor the new members.
Anthony's presenters are Wade and Iverson, with Wade being Anthony's close friend and Iverson having been his teammate during their time with the Nuggets. Notably, Dwight Howard had chosen his own lineup of presenters. On April 10, he expressed on social media his hope that O'Neal, Garnett, Rodman, Olajuwon, and Abdul-Jabbar would present him, but ultimately only Rodman made the official list. O'Neal had previously agreed to attend and stated, "Of course, he is my good brother." However, with the official list now released, it seems O'Neal will not be among Howard's presenters.
It remains unclear where the misunderstanding lies, but we will not be able to see O'Neal share warm memories about Howard during the ceremony. Considering their long history of public tension before reconciling, this was expected to be a particularly noteworthy moment.
In other award arrangements, UConn coach Geno Auriemma will host the induction ceremony for two former disciples, Sue Bird and Maya Moore. Swin Cash will also present awards to two WNBA and collegiate basketball legends, having played alongside Bird on the Seattle Storm to win a championship, while Moore has looked up to Cash since childhood, and their relationship is now very close.
The 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for September 6 in Springfield, Massachusetts, where the award presenters will honor the new members before their official induction.
