Beasley has been evicted from his apartment for failing to pay $21,500 in rent! Ongoing troubles are affecting his career.

On August 8, Beijing time, Malik Beasley faced a series of troubles. According to the Detroit News, the free agent guard was evicted from his apartment in downtown Detroit due to allegedly owing $21,500 in rent. The property in question is the Stott Building, a high-rise owned by Detroit-based Bedrock, which is associated with Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.

Bedrock has filed two lawsuits, and Beasley did not respond to the second lawsuit, ultimately leading to a default judgment by the court and the execution of the eviction.

Just a few days ago, Beasley posted an emotional video on Snapchat, addressing rumors and criticisms related to a federal gambling investigation. He stated, “Some people in the media are saying ridiculous things, and others are blaming me. I tell you, I have this fire inside me, and I'm ready to crush anyone in my path. I want to prove once again that I belong in this league.”

These words were powerful, but reality has hit him hard. From loan defaults and wage garnishments by a dentist to now being evicted, Beasley’s off-court troubles continue to accumulate. Although he had an impressive season in Detroit, his NBA future remains uncertain.

More importantly, Beasley is still under federal investigation regarding alleged gambling activities related to NBA games. While he has not been charged with any crimes, this investigation casts a shadow over his basketball career. Reports suggest he was set to sign a three-year, $42 million contract with the Detroit Pistons, but negotiations stalled after the investigation became public, leaving his free agency in limbo.

On the court, Beasley just had one of the best seasons of his career, averaging 16.3 points with a three-point shooting percentage of 41.6%. With legal, financial, and professional issues erupting simultaneously, Beasley’s future path—whether in the NBA or elsewhere—remains unclear.
