Euro Championship Warm-up: Vucevic scores 23 to defeat Bosnia, Schroder adds 18+6 to beat Slovenia again

On August 11, Beijing time, the Euro Championship warm-up matches continued. Montenegro defeated Bosnia 102-90, Germany won against Slovenia 80-70, Serbia triumphed over Cyprus 122-55, Lithuania easily beat Georgia 77-54, Israel overcame Greece 75-58, and Poland narrowly defeated Sweden 74-72.

Montenegro 102-90 defeats Bosnia

In a match held at the Mirza Delibasic Sports Hall in Sarajevo, Montenegro secured their first victory in preparation for the Euro Championship by defeating Bosnia 102-90.

Bulls center Vucevic led Montenegro with 23 points, supported by five teammates who also scored in double figures. Jovan Kraljevic contributed 16 points, Igor Delbanjak added 14 points, Dodie Jovanovic chipped in 13 points, and Marko Simonovic finished with 12 points.

Džanan Musa scored 22 points for Bosnia. Aleksandar Lazić added 17 points, while Nurkić contributed 15 points.

Germany 80-70 beats Slovenia again

In a Euro Championship warm-up match held in Mannheim, Germany defeated Slovenia 80-70 once again. Dennis Schroder contributed 18 points and 6 assists, while Franz Wagner scored 17 points, with Doncic absent from the game. The two teams previously faced off in Slovenia, where Germany won 103-89 against Doncic's squad.

Isaac Bonga added 14 points for Germany, as the team went on a 12-0 run in the last 3 minutes and 22 seconds to seal the victory. For Slovenia, Gregor Hrovat (15 points, 5 assists) and Aleksey Nikolic (12 points, 4 assists) stood out.

Despite Luka Doncic's absence, Slovenia remained competitive, leading 67-60 with 6 minutes and 58 seconds left in the game. Subsequently, Schroder scored 8 consecutive points, and Germany showcased strong defense in the final moments, ultimately securing the win.

Serbia 122-55 crushes Cyprus

Although Serbia was missing superstar Jokic, captain Bogdan Bogdanovic, and several other players, their strength still far surpassed that of Cyprus. They won by a staggering 67-point margin.

Tristan Vukcevic contributed 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals for Serbia, while Koprivica added 22 points and 6 rebounds. Filip Petrusev chipped in with 18 points. Additionally, Serbia was without recently recovered guard Vasilije Micic, and center Nikola Milutinov and guard Stefan Jovic were rested.

Phillips Tigas scored 17 points for Cyprus.

Lithuania 77-54 easily defeats Georgia

In a warm-up match held in Kaunas, Lithuania secured a 77-54 victory over Georgia. Valanciunas contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds in his debut for the Lithuanian national team this summer. He was the only player on the team to score in double figures amidst a balanced performance under coach Rimas Kurtinaitis. Jokubaitis added 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Emantas Bendzius scored 8 points. For Georgia, Mamukelashvili scored 15 points.

Lithuania established a double-digit lead in the first half, finishing it at 40-29. They then extended their lead to 49-31. Georgia mounted a comeback in the final quarter, narrowing the gap to 6 points, but the hosts responded with a scoring surge, changing the score to 62-47 with 5 minutes left in the game.

Israel 75-58 defeats Greece

In the final match of the ECOMMBX Cup held in Cyprus, Israel defeated a depleted Greece team 75-58 thanks to an impressive second-half performance.

Israel concluded this tournament with two victories, having first beaten Cyprus and now Greece. Greece, on the other hand, suffered two losses, previously falling to Serbia.

Roman Sorkin contributed 16 points and 7 rebounds for Israel, while Trail Blazers forward Avdija also scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds (but committed 8 turnovers). Israel trailed 39-43 early in the second half but regained the lead and extended the margin, reaching nearly 20 points at one point.

Tyler Dorsey (14 points) and Kalaitzakis (12 points) were Greece's main scorers. Besides Giannis, Kostas Sloukas, Kostas Papapetrou, and Dinos Mitoglou were all absent, while Giannoulis Larentzakis had to leave the game due to back tightness at halftime.

Greece's head coach Spanoulis expressed dissatisfaction with the team's lackluster performance in the second half. He stated, "We played sluggishly and timidly, lacking passion and energy. These players must understand that nothing is taken for granted in life or sports. They need to be better prepared to seize opportunities."

Poland 74-72 narrowly defeats Sweden

In a warm-up match ahead of the 2025 Euro Championship, Jordan Lloyd scored 20 points to lead Poland to a 74-72 victory over Sweden.

This was Poland's first warm-up match this summer with fans in attendance. Lloyd shot 8 of 9 from the field (including 4 of 5 from three-point range) in 19 minutes and 11 seconds of play.

Barcelowksi contributed 16 points and 5 assists for Poland; Olejniczak added 12 points and 5 rebounds; and Ponitka recorded 11 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals.

For Sweden, Pelle Larsson (14 points, 7 assists, 4 steals), Tobias Borg (13 points), Melvin Pantzar (12 points, 6 assists), and William Falk (10 points) all scored in double figures.

Poland's Euro Championship training camp will continue, but Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan has been ruled out of the tournament due to a calf injury.
